Epoxy Electrical Insulation
Epoxy powder coating is an excellent insulation for many applications. The splitter plates used to control electrical transmission at an industrial power station are coated with 15-30 mils of epoxy. Bus Bars are insulated with 5-20 mils of Epoxy. Both applications are coated via the FLUIDIZED-BED PROCESS. Today, Epoxy powders have become more costly than polyester coating resins and are in shorter supply.
